Sydney-born Catherine Alcorn is a multi award-winning performer, producer, presenter and creator, widely regarded as one of Australia's leading live entertainers. Renowned for her powerhouse vocals, razor-sharp wit and magnetic stage presence, Catherine has built an international career spanning theatre, cabaret, concerts, television and major live events.
Hailed as "a must see!" by the L.A. Times, "absolutely hilarious" by Time Out and possessing "a voice to die for" by Stage Noise, Catherine combines world-class musicianship with fearless storytelling and comedy, creating unforgettable live experiences that leave audiences laughing, singing and wanting more.
As an artist and producer, Catherine has created and toured a catalogue of acclaimed productions including The Divine Miss Bette, Songbird: Celebrating the Music of Christine McVie, Midler & Me, Cathartic, 30 Something, Bangers & Mash and the new concert series QUEENS. Her celebrated portrayal of Bette Midler has toured Australia, New Zealand and the United States, earning the Broadway World Award for Best Cabaret Production and becoming one of the highest-selling productions in the history of the Adelaide Cabaret Festival.
In 2023 and 2024 Catherine joined the national Australian tour of Menopause The Musical®, introducing her work to thousands of theatre-goers across the country. She has since headlined some of Australia's most prestigious fundraising events, including the 2025 Lifeline Sapphire Gala Ball and the 2026 Starlight Children's Foundation Star Ball in Darwin.
In 2025 Catherine headlined the inaugural Pride voyage to Antarctica, becoming the first Australian vocalist to perform on the Antarctic continent—an historic milestone in Australian live performance. In 2026 she was invited to host the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Fair Day, one of Australia's largest LGBTQIA+ community celebrations, and launched her acclaimed residency at Ginger's on Oxford Street, where consecutive sold-out performances have quickly established the venue as one of Sydney's hottest live entertainment destinations.
Beyond the stage, Catherine is one of Australia's most sought-after hosts and corporate entertainers, having worked with leading organisations including TEDx Sydney at the Sydney Opera House, Mercedes-Benz, Optus, Lifeline Australia, Sydney Festival, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Vivid Sydney and Special Olympics Australia. She has also appeared on Australian television and in national advertising campaigns, including as a featured actor for BIG W.
As a producer, Catherine has championed Australian live entertainment through Tenacious C Presents, developing and touring original productions throughout Australia while creating opportunities for musicians, creatives and technical artists. Her producing credits also include High Standards at the City Recital Hall, From Sydney With Love at Sydney Town Hall and serving as Artistic Director of Glen Street Theatre's inaugural Cabaret in the Glen season.
Whether commanding the stage of a major theatre, entertaining aboard an expedition ship or hosting a room of thousands, Catherine brings extraordinary warmth, authenticity and joy to every performance. More than fifteen years into her career, she continues to redefine modern cabaret while building ambitious new productions for audiences across Australia and around the world.
In 2026, Catherine established a headline residency at Ginger's on Oxford Street, helping lead the revival of Sydney's contemporary cabaret scene and creating a new home for live music, comedy and showmanship in the heart of the Emerald city.
She is a proud ambassador of Kawai, Make Music Day and Make Music Day Australia.
